Teachers Transition: New Roles and Resignations

Many educators in the T2T and PP communities are shifting roles and school sites for the 2022-23 school year.

  • “Today is my last day as a classroom teacher. I begin a new role outside of education next Monday. I am nervous, but not regretful or sad. I’m deeply thankful to the #MTBoS and the teachers here who bought me decade in the classroom. Onward to new adventures!” —High School Math Teacher in Pennsylvania
  • “I’m struggling with mixed emotions at the end of this year. So many colleagues leaving for other careers, and I’m happy for them and their work-life balance. But each one leaves a void that must be filled by one of us who chose to stay in the classroom.” —Middle School Science Teacher in North Carolina
  • “My school community has showered me with so much love. I’m really going to miss them. I have loved every minute & day working with my amazing students & colleagues @eaglecommsch. While it’s so sad to be leaving, I’m looking forward to new opportunities & to keep learning & growing.” —Educator in Maryland
  • “Twitter edu-hive: I’m having a hard time finding good stats on how many teachers are staying for Fall 2022 and/or how many teachers are leaving/have left in Spring/Summer 2022. Anybody have any leads?” —Teacher in New York
  • “Very curious what the actual numbers are looking like in terms of teachers leaving the profession after the VERY scary polling data/anecdotes of the last several months. Anyone know when/where we’ll have a better grasp of how this shook out?” —High School English Teacher in Oregon
